This was a gift from my husband
for our 23rd wedding anniversary...I had so much fun painting
it! Right in the middle of packing for our move, lol. Was a wonderful
diversion...I call it paint therapy. When in doubt paint, paint and
paint some more. I absolutely love it, thank you honey! $100.00 + the
cost of paint=cheap date & Happy, Happy, Happy Wifee :D simple
pleasures for a simple girl! PS. A big TY to JC Second Hand Shop...what a
deal they gave me!

BEFORE: Yes it was handpainted and
and laquered (shiny).
Collective GASP..yes I did paint over someones art, it was a bit too busy for me & I really don't care for shiny finishes. I did feel bad about it all day...but I am over it now! |

AFTER:
Refinished with semi-flat black and detailed out with
antique gold highlights. I had to widdle down my candles at the bottoms to fit the tiny candle stick holders, those pioneers must have made really skinny candles, lol! Bottom shelf is a great place to house my vintage books. |

this vintage Conneticut House Pewter Candle Snuffer for $6.50 to go on my
washstand....perfect for it! Vintage treasures...I just love finding them!

UPDATE: We made it to our place with no damage,YIPEE! I went
back to same 2nd hand shop (where I purchased this washstand) and purchased this antique pitcher & bowl from England. I negotiated a very good deal (of course)....I am in love with it, especially the scalloped edges! |

| Redid this piece again after another move. |
Well we moved again and so I redid this piece again. This time using
Maison Blanche Vintage Furniture Paint in Cobblestone. I used clear wax
& Le Dirt to finish it off. I love the Le Dirt! It goes perfectly
into old paint lines and cracks really aging the paint perfectly!
